Spin Mania Review

If you are looking for a last minute gift or a game that the whole family can enjoy then I have the perfect thing for you - Spin Mania from Drummond Park. It is a fast paced action game that can be played by one person or for added fun with family or friends. It is guaranteed to bring out the competitive streak in all who play.

In the box you get a motorised Spinning Machine with an electronic timer, three orange helicopter-like rotary plates, a 'spin spike', scoring pegs (took me a few minutes to work out what they were for) and three purple stands which you or your opponent places around the room to set the plates on once they are spinning correctly. The aim of the game is to 'spin up' the three plates on the Spinning Machine one at a time and then, using your spike, transfer them, still spinning, to the three separate stands. All three plates must still be spinning on their stands as the player rushes back to the timer, stops the clock, and marks the time taken. Then the next player or players strive to beat the time recorded.

We had a lot of fun playing this and I can foretell there will be a whole lot more over Christmas when we have friends and family visiting. It is recommended for ages 6+ but Ben, aged 3 even had a go and was quite good at getting the plates to spin. I love the competitive element to it and it is nice to have a game that all the family can take part in that is physical rather than centered around a games console. You definitely need to have a steady hand and good concentration so should be amusing to watch the adults have a go after a few glasses of wine this Christmas.

Ben loves setting the timer and spinning the plates
Spin Mania has an RRP of £22.99 and is available in the all the major retail outlets including Smyths Toys who have it on sale for a bargain price this Christmas so go grab it now while you can. I guarantee you will have a lot of fun with it. One thing though, the game needs 2 x C batteries so remember to pick them up!
