Nearly Two already!

OMG I can't believe it will be Ben's second birthday in just a months time! Where I ask you has the time gone? It feels like only yesterday I was freaking out in Mamas & Papas because I didn't have a clue what I should be buying for a newborn. I remember looking at babygros, rompers, bodysuits, vests and so on and getting all confused about what I needed and then panicking over the sizes thinking do I need tiny baby, small baby or newborn? My pregnant brain at the time couldn't figure it out and I quickly left and jumped (or I should say waddled) on to the tube and headed home to consult google where I ended up getting more confused.

It's funny now when I look back at the things that I worried about before Ben was here. I guess I had too much time to think and once he actually arrived it was like being on a very fast roller coaster ride with lots of highs and lows and figuring out what he needed as we encountered a new challenge or entered a new stage of development. What I do know is that every set of parents do things differently and there is no right or wrong way to do things as long as the baby is cared for and looked after well. While people may have strong opinions on things such as breastfeeding versus bottle, weaning, potty training and sleep techniques amongst other things you have to do what works for you and your family.

I have found the Baby Led Weaning approach worked really well for us and it is a joy to see Ben eat pretty much anything which is put in front of him. I was lucky enough to have that found breastfeeding came easily and I am still feeding Ben with plans to wean him around two. Sleep is probably the biggest hurdle we face with Ben, he is a bit of a party baby at times and it can lead to very late nights but we are working on it. New adventures in the not too distant future include potty training which is something I need to start researching soon.

Now nearly two years down the line of being a mummy, I have to say I absolutely love being a mummy to Ben and while some days are harder than others there is one thing for sure, there is no greater joy than looking at your child, your wonderful creation and thinking my husband and I made this amazing little boy who is bursting with more and more personality each day. It makes me very proud.

My little monkey :)

:) we have three kids. One tip -- they grow very fast! The next thing you'll see is him going to school and wonder where all that time went so fast !
