Ben's top iPad / iPhone app this week: Baa Baa Black Sheep

This week I am going to tell you about another fantastic Duck Duck Moose app called Baa Baa Black Sheep which Ben loves to play. It is based on the well known nursery rhyme and is both fun and educational.
Loading the Sheep on to the Boat
This app is very interactive which certainly keeps Ben's attention. Like other Duck Duck Moose apps such as Itsy Bitsy Spider virtually everything you touch causes a reaction which Ben loves. At the start of the app you have to fill a boat with a number of sheep which are waiting to board from a nearby cliff. You can set the navigation to auto in the app settings, swipe to move or touch the arrow or anchor to go forward or under water where there are fun things to explore such as a treasure chest, clam shell, lots of fish which you can feed, a diver and much more. There are three different underwater scenes along the way. Throughout the game you have to find a selection of items whose outlines are in a row on screen, these are random things such as a banana, a bus, a ring etc. When boat arrives at land, you have to unload all the sheep and then you meet Baa Baa sheep who can be one of a variety of colours including black, purple orange and so on, this helps to teach different colours as the words of the song change depending on the colour. Baa Baa sheep then leads you to the master, the dame and the little boy who lives down the lane who each receive a bag of wool. It is good because it counts out the numbers which is another opportunity for your little one to learn counting. The master, the dame and the little boy then say 'Thank You!' and the game begins again with a new selection of objects to collect and different things to explore on your new journey.

Ben loves the sleeping Teddy Bear
Ben loves this game, he really enjoys finding the hidden objects and the fun things you encounter along the way. He especially loves when he finds the sleeping teddy bear underwater and always waves and says 'Hi Hi Teddy bear!' which I find very sweet.

The Master, the Dame & the Little Boy

The app is available to download from the App Store for £1.49 and is compatible with iPod, Touch, iPhone and iPad although a separate iPad version is not available. I can highly recommend this app, it will definitely keep your little one entertained.
