To Dye or not to Dye..
That's my big dilemma. Now I'm a mummy certain things which defined me seem less important but there is the potential loss of one which I am struggling with. I have had blonde highlights for over half my life but now it just seems too darn hard to maintain them and I am questioning whether I should just buy a colour in boots and give it a try. It will have to be dark, I learnt the hard way a few years ago that trying to dye it blonde myself results in carrot coloured roots - not very attractive at all!
Hair colour - is it that important? Will I feel different if I leave my blonde locks behind and opt for a dark shade? I hope this post doesn't make me sound vain because I'm not - honest! All I know is that I have to make a decision soon, there's some serious regrowth going on here - last time I got my highlights done was September 1st.
So to any mummys out there have you faced a similar dilemma and what did you opt to do? Any comment or opinions appreciated - Thanks!

What a difference a week makes!
Watching Ben over the past week I feel like I have been given a chance to look at the world through a new set of eyes. Ben has started to really take notice of his environment and wants to constantly interact with everyone and everything in it. He is no longer happy to merely stare at things and take them in. He now stares at them, takes them in and starts talking about them in his own very meaningful (and very cute-sounding) baby language. He has found his voice and it's clear he wants everyone to know his opinion on all the fantastic and exciting new things in his world.
We've also been having lots of fun in our rolling over and crawling attempts which seem to have come on so much in a week. It made me laugh yesterday when during a pretty impressive crawling attempt he caught sight of himself in the mirror and started shouting and smiling, checking himself out and I swear he even did a 'Joey-from-friends style' wink.
My highlight of the week though happened on Sunday night. Ben was in my arms and suddenly grabbed my hair, pulled me into him and gave me a big sloppy kiss on the lips... now that's something I will never forget!

Nappy Brain
The term 'Nappy Brain' always amused me and to be honest I was a little bit sceptical that it was real however now it has hit me with a bang I am in no doubt that it is not a very real condition.
I used to have a brilliant memory before becoming a mummy. I would always remember the things I needed to pick up when I went to the shops, important dates like birthdays and anniversaries, the details of conversations I had enjoyed and plots of the films I had watched. Not anymore. Now I have entered the fabulous realm of motherhood things have started to escape my memory. It can be frustrating at times so I have decided that I will have to start writing shopping and 'To Do' lists (well make notes in my iPhone) and set alerts for anything important.
For now I'm blaming my changed sleeping patterns and I'm sure my normal efficient brain will return one of these days. To any mums out there - it will won't it?

My Favourite Photo Meme
Thanks to Claire at Dandelion Lounge for tagging me in My Favourite Photo Meme. It's been a difficult but fun task picking my favourite photo as I have so many which bring back fantastic memories. I have changed my mind a few times but always come back to this one..
It is one of the first photos of me holding Ben and it still brings back a flood of emotions - overwhelming love, excitement and pride to name but a few. This perfect, bubble blowing little bundle was about to change the world as I knew it forever. I was now a Mummy!
I would love to pass this on to someone else but unfortunately I can't think of anyone I know who hasn't done it already but please feel free to continue it if you would like to do your own and let me know.

Finally I'm blogging...
It's taken me awhile and a few false starts but finally it is here - my first blog!
It was a year ago today that I discovered I was pregnant - I still remember that wonderful feeling when I knew the test was positive. I kept thinking this must be what it feels like to win the lottery! My hubby and I were so excited and went out and bought loads of pregnancy books which when I started reading later filled me with both fear and excitment.
Fast forward 12 months and I'm sitting here with the most munchable little baby boy asleep in my arms as I type. How much this little baby (pictured below shortly after he arrived in the world) has changed our lives - it just gets better and better and more and more exciting everyday as he develops and grows and I look forward to sharing the fun with you..
